A few days ago, we had reported that Baby Do Die Do, starring Huma Qureshi, is all set to hit theatres on July 3. After unveiling the first glimpse on Saturday, the team released the official teaser on Tuesday.
Carrying over from the premise set up in the first glimpse, the teaser gives a deeper look into the life of the protagonist Baby Karmarkar, a visually and auditorily impaired woman who, tired from the claustrophobia the city has forced her to make peace with, moonlights as a hit-woman while working as an NGO worker for the differently abled in the daytime, carrying a deceptive weapon all along.
The impact of the teaser is accentuated by the use of ‘Gardi,’ a gripping rap anthem that captures the spirit of Mumbai. The rap number is penned by WB Sam, composed by Arjun Iyer, and sung by Arjun Iyer and Christina Andrew.
The teaser also establishes other key figures like a inspector (Seema Pahwa) who is amused by the emergence of a new killer in town. Other primary cast members include Sikander Kher, Rachit Singh, Vidya Malavade, Himanshu Malik, Marudhar Shekhawat, and Arun Kushwah.
Baby Do Die Do is directed by Nachiket Samant, who previously directed Single Salma, which too starred Huma in the lead. The story is penned by Jasmeet K Reen (Darlings) and Parveez Shaikh, while Nachiket shares the screenplay and dialogue credits with Gaurav Sharma. Tojo Xavier is the cinematographer, while the editing is co-helmed by Nikhil Parihar and Ashish Tripathi.
Saqib Saleem is producing the film under Saleem Siblings banner in collaboration with Pune-04 Pictures.
