Rakesh Roshan comes clean on rumours about Hrithik Roshan asking for Rs 500 cr to make Krrish 4

The Krrish filmmaker also informed that the film will go on the floors by end of 2026

While it was announced more than an year ago, there has been no major announcement or update on Krrish 4. The film marks the much-anticipated next instalment in the Hrithik Roshan starrer Krrish franchise which has Yash Raj Films onboard as producer. Recently, there were a few reports about the project being delayed due to financial disagreements between Hrithik and Aditya Chopra. In a recent interview, Hrithik’s father and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan dismissed all such rumours, while also providing clarity on the project.

Speaking with Mid Day, The Koi Mil Gaya filmmaker said, “Making a good film catering to a [wide] audience takes time. Even I have taken time for each of my Krrish offerings.” He also refuted also rumours of Hrithik Roshan asking Yash Raj Films for 500 crore budget for the film, labelling it ‘nonsense, and clarified that the project was delayed due to Hrithik’s busy scheduled with his production banner, which he launched a few months ago.

Giving further details about the project, Rakesh Roshan said, “There are no issues; all is smooth. It’s teamwork between Adi, Hrithik, and me,” also confirming that the script is nearly finalised and team is planning to take the project to the shooting floors by end of 2026. 

The fourth instalment of the Krrish franchise, which was first announced in 2018, was initially supposed to be directed by Agneepath (2012) fame Karan Malhotra. However, it was in 2025 that Rakesh Roshan announced Hrithik himself would helm direction for the much-anticipated film. 

The previous Krrish instalment, titled Krrish 3, released way back in 2013. Besides Hrithik, the film also starred Kangana Ranaut, Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Chopra.
