Richa Chadha weighs in on Japan shoplifting incident: ‘They will keep calling you uneducated'

Richa Chadha, who is known to be vocal about socio-political issues, recently called out politicians amidst the rising heatwave across many parts in India

An alleged shoplifting incident by an Indian tourist in Japan, who was part of a huge touring group, has since gone viral, drawing strong responses from many notable figures and celebrities. Now Richa Chadha has reacted to the incident.

The Masaan actor took to her X page, penning, “Mat karo ye bhikharipana har jaga (Stop behaving this miserly everywhere you go). From belching, burping loudly after meals in public, littering,to pushing, shoving, cutting lines, shouting loudly, to dancing in public in hordes! Eww.”

Recalling a recent personal incident, Richa added, “Yesterday an Indian family cut in, in the an immigration line ahead of us, I confronted them - so they huffed, puffed but pushed ahead regardless. Got confronted by a white man in the next 10 seconds, they grinned shamelessly. You represent all of us, so the rest of us will keep calling you jaahils (uneducated) out.”

Richa, who is known to be outspoken about socio-political issues, recently called out politicians amidst the rising heat wave across many parts in India. 

On a professional front, Richa will soon begin shooting for her film, a comedy written by Amitosh Nagpal. Her work pipeline also includes Akhri Somvaar and Indo-British drama Aaina

Meanwhile, the woman who was caught stealing items was let go with severe warning, despite stealing being a severe crime in Japan. However, the incident has already drawn attention both in local and international media. The incident was brought to light by an investment advisor named Muthukrishnan Dhandapani, who claimed to be part of the same tour group.
