July 29 marked the completion of 10 years of Dishoom, the action-entertainer which starred Varun Dhawan, John Abraham, and Jacqueline Fernandez. To mark the occasion, Varun penned a brief but heartfelt note remembering the making of the 2016 film.

Also sharing a few BTS stills from the shoot, Varun wrote, “Toh Dishoom. Had the best time making a film with my brothers Rohit, John Abraham and Jacqueline. We shot a large portion of it in UAE. How time flies but anytime India ko bura kahaan toh dishoom can be back. 10 years.”

The BTS stills capture the fun energy and vibe, both on sets and during its promotional run, where Varun can be seen sharing some light-hearted moments with John and Jacqueline.

In Dishoom, Varun played Junaid Ansari, bringing a smooth mix of comedy and action to his character, making it more lively and appealing purely because of his clear understanding of the character's demands. The actor also shared great chemistry with John and Jacqueline, which added to the film’s entertainment quotient.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film also had actors like Akshaye Khanna, Rahul Dev, Saqib Saleem,mVijay Raaz, Nargis Fkhri and Parineeti Chopra in the ensemble cast.

Directed by Varun’s brother and filmmaker Rohit Dhawan, Dishoom also featured Akshay Kumar in a special cameo. According to box office tracker Box Office India, the action-entertainer did average business at the box office, with nett collections of Rs 68 crores, and was one of the top 100 grossers of 2016. 

Varun’s recent releases include Border 2 and Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. While Border 2 emerged as a massive hit, HJTIHA failed to win the audience’s hearts. The latter also began streaming on ZEE5 earlier today.
