The Ramayana team, consisting of Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra, has been actively promoting their film for the past few days at the San Diego Comic Con. During one of the interviews, Yash spoke at length about his preparation for Ravana’s role.  

Speaking about his portrayal of Ravana, Yash revealed that he followed an unusual ritual before every day of shoot. Since Ravana is believed to be an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, the KGF actor would have large speakers set up on the film's set, playing Shiva devotional songs at full volume to get into character. "The music would be so loud that people on the set found it difficult to talk," Yash recalled with a laugh, adding that the routine helped him enter Ravana's frame of mind before facing the camera.

Yash also admitted that wearing Ravana's elaborate crown and heavy costume was physically demanding, but said the effort was worth it.

On the occasion, Ranbir too praised his co-star, saying that Ramayana needed someone with his aura to work. He also revealed that they are yet to shoot any scenes together, and that the climactic battle scene is yet to be filmed. 

While Ranbir Kapoor will play Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi will be seen as Sita in the film. The film boasts a massive ensemble cast with actors like Ravie Dubey, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, Arun Govil, and Sheeba Chaddha on board. The teaser of the film is yet to be released online. 

The first part of the epic is set for theatrical release in November this year. According to some reports, Sunny Deol, who plays Hanuman, will make an appearance only in 2nd part.
