We had previously reported about Khosla Ka Ghosla 2, the official sequel to the much-loved 2006 film Khosla Ka Ghosla. On Tuesday, the makers officially announced the onboarding of their new cast member, Divya Khossla.
Sharing a few stills of the actor, T Series shared a note on their Instagram page that read, “The OG Khossla enters the Khosla Ka Ghosla universe. Divya Khossla joins the much-anticipated sequel Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 alongside legends Anupam Kher and Boman Irani.”
The film was officially announced in January, with its lead actor penning a heartfelt note to mark the occasion. Later, in April, the makers announced signing Ravi Kishen for a key role. While other cast members like Boman Irani, Kiran Juneja, Tara Sharma, Ranvir Shorey and Parvin Dabas will reprise their roles from the original, the original film’s director Dibakar Banarjee is not part of the sequel.
Divya Khossla, who made her acting debut in 2004 with the war-drama Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo, was seen in two films last year — Ek Chatur Naar and Jatadhara — witht the latter marking her Telugu debut.
Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 was previously set for an August release. However, in their latest casting announcement, the makers didn’t confirm the release date. The film is being jointly produced under the banners of T Series Films and Tandav Films, with Savita Raj Hiremath and Raj Hiremath, producers of the original backing the sequel too.
Khosla Ka Ghosla was produced by Ronnie Screwala and Savita Raj Hiremath. Besides emerging as a sleeper hit at the box office, the film also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 54th National Film Awards. Incidentally, the film completes 20 years of its release this year.
