Emraan Hashmi, who was last seen in the OTT series Taskaree, is now gearing up for the release of the much-anticipation Awarapan sequel, Awarapan 2 that is set to release on August 14. The first single of the film, ‘Ve Junoon,’ which was released last week has been received very well. On Tuesday, Awarapan 2 makers released the second single.

Titled ‘Yeh Awarapan,’ the song features the voice of Arijit Singh who had declared his retirement from playback singing earlier this year. Composed by Amaal Malik and written by Rashmi-Virag, the song is soaked in the love, longing and redemption that have always been the calling card of Awarapan's universe.

The music video features an intense Emraan Hashmi as he captured the raw brooding energy of Shivam Pandit and his world. The video also contains visuals from the 2007 film, capturing Shivam’s moments of grief and pain over his lost love.  

Meanwhile, ‘Ve Junoon’ has already garnered over 30 million hits on YouTube. 

Presented by Vishesh Films and Mukesh Bhatt, Awarapan 2 is directed by Nitin Kakkar who has previously made films like Filmistaan (2014) and Jawaani Jaanemann (2020). Written by Bilal Siddiqi and produced by Vishesh Bhatt, the film also stars Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, Atul Kumar and Aniruddh Rawal.

The film is set for a major box office clash with Sunny Deol starrer Batwara 1947. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film also features Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, and Ali Fazal among others.

Meanwhile, the makers of Awarapan are also reportedly planning a re-release for the 2007 film in theatres again, and the film is set to arrive in theatres again on July 31.
