Confirming speculations that have been circulating on social media for a long time, Aamir Khan has finally opened up on his marriage plans with partner Gauri Spratt. In a recent press interaction, Aamir said, "I am getting married on July 5, and the wedding will take place at home with close family and friends. We seek everyone's blessings and hope that we remain happy forever."

The 61-year-old actor revealed that he and Gauri, 47, have decided to have a small and intimate wedding at their Mumbai home. The private event will include all four of his children from previous marriages and a few friends, with no grand reception planned. Aamir shared the happy news while attending the screening of the latest series Pritam and Pedro on Thursday evening. Rajkumar Hirani, who helms the show in his streaming debut, was one of the first people to congratulate him as he hugged Aamir on stage. They have previously collaborated on 3 Idiots and PK.

Gauri, who was previously associated with Aamir Khan Productions, has a seven-year-old son, Quinn, from her previous marriage. She is also the granddaughter of Philip Spratt, a British-born Communist who came to India in the 1920s and later became involved in India's freedom movement.

This will be Aamir’s third marriage. The actor was previously married to filmmaker Kiran Rao from 2005 to 2021, with whom he has a son, Azad. His first marriage was with Reena Dutta from 1986 to 2002 and he shares son Junaid and daughter Ira with her.

Aamir introduced Gauri to the media at a pre-birthday event in Mumbai last year. During the interaction, he confirmed their relationship and revealed that they had been together for over a year.

On the work front, Aamir was seen as the lead in Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, which was released last year. It was a spiritual sequel to Khan's own 2007 blockbuster Taare Zameen Par and an official remake of the 2018 Spanish film Champions.
