After the mammoth success of Dhurandhar in December last year, the staggering opening weekend figures come as another huge respite to Hindi film industry. Celebrating the success of these two films, Karan Johar penned a note on his social media page, terming it as return of Bollywood.

Taking to his Instagram stories section, The eminent filmmaker penned, “The mega success of the two recent back to back mega Hindi film successes prove on thing....Bollywood (yes incorrect terminology but here to stay) is back! Naysayers can fly a kite!” Using the titles of the said films as metaphors, Karan concludes his note by saying that good artists will always excel when ‘the films strike emotional chords with a paying audience!’

A few days ago, at a public event, Karan Johar had spoken profusely about Dhurandhar and how he admired Aditya Dhar for his cinematic craft, and how he wasn't offended by the film's political stance.

On the other hand, the Dhurandhar makers are likely to taste success all over again, as they gear for the release of its sequel Dhurandhar 2, which is slated to arrive on March 19 this year.

Meanwhile, Border 2 has already crossed 150 crore mark (nett) at domestic box office. As of at 5pm on Monday, the film’s day 4 collections stand at 35 crore nett.
