

After registering impressive figures on its first two days, Border 2 took a stupendous jump on Sunday at the box office. Directed by Anurag Sinha, the war-drama sequel stars Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, and Varun Dhawan in the lead cast.
According to a report from Sacnilk.com, Border 2 collected a a staggering Rs 54.5 crore (nett) on Sunday alone. That’s a massive 50 percent jump from its Saturday figures which were already impressive at Rs 36.5 crore.
The film also comfortably entered the 100 crore club on Sunday. As of on Monday, 11pm, the film’s domestic figures stand at Rs 125 crore (nett). Given that Monday marks a public holiday with Republic Day, Border 2 is expected to continue its stupendous run at the box office and add another 35-40 crores to its domestic collections.
In the overseas market too, the war-drama has been performing well, having collected Rs 27 crore in its first three days. The film’s worldwide collections currently stand at Rs 172 crores.
Reportedly made on a budget of Rs 275 crores, Border 2 has emerged as a clean hit. It only remains to be seen to what extent the film’s collections will be affected by the arrival of Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani 3 next week on January 30.
Border 2 also features Mona Singh, Anya Singh, and Sonam Bajwa as the female leads. Additionally, the film also has special appearances from actors like Akshaye Khanna, Punit Issar, and Suniel Shetty who were part of the 1997 film Border, to which this is a spiritual sequel.
