Actors Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr’s romantic-comedy Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 is set to hit the theatres soon. Directed by Prasshant Jha, the film’s producer Vinod Bachchan, via a press release, spoke about what drew him towards backing the film.
“I have always been drawn to stories that bring families together. Weddings in India are more than just ceremonies they’re filled with emotion, drama, chaos, laughter and ultimately, commitment,” he said.
“What fascinates me most is what happens behind the scenes, the search for the right partner, the misunderstandings and the unexpected bonds that form along the way. When two people finally choose each other, there’s something incredibly hopeful and beautiful about that union,” he added.
Vinod is backing the film via his banner Soundrya Production, known for wedding-in-the-backdrop films like Tanu Weds Manu (2011), Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana (2017) and Ginny Weds Sunny (2020).
“The love audiences have shown to our previous films reassures me that the heartland connects deeply with family entertainers that reflect their own realities, values and aspirations,” he said.
The film also features Lillete Dubey, Sudhir Pandey, Govind Namdev, Gopi Bhalla, Nayani Dixit, Vishwanath Chatterjee and Rohit Chaudhary. Vinod has produced the film alongside Umesh Kumar Bansal. Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 is slated to release on April 24.
