We had reported on Tuesday evening about Salman Khan’s father and legendary screenwriter Salim Khan being hospitalised. While there was no official update from Salim Khan’s family yesterday, the doctors had assured an update on Wednesday morning after due check-up.

Salim Khan’s doctor Jalil Parkar addressed media on Wednesday, issuing an official statement about Salim Khan’s health. In his statement, the doctor also clarified that there was no surgery performed on the veteran screenwriter. At the same time, he confirmed that there was a brain hemorrhage, albeit a minimal one. He added, “It was a small procedure which we usually do. No surgical intervention was required. Please don’t report otherwise.”

Giving further details about Salim Khan’s health, Dr Jalil said, “We realised he needed ICU hospitalisation. We had to put him on ventilator as a safeguard so that his health doesn’t worsen. It’s not like he was critical. We did the investigation that was required. Post the procedure, he is fine and stable, and shifted to ICU. By tomorrow, we will take him off ventilator.” The doctor admitted that age is a factor for aged patients like Salim Khan, adding, “That’s why recovery process takes a little time. For now, he is doing quite well.”

Salim Khan’s family, including Salman Khan, is yet to make an official statement about the same. The writer, who co-wrote some of the most iconic films of the 1970s and 80s, turned 90 in November last year.
