On Tuesday, the makers of The Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond unveiled the official trailer of their film. Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under Sunshine Pictures banner, the film is set for theatrical release on February 27.

While The Kerala Story was based specifically in the state, the sequel extends its horizons, revolving around three young women who live in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Kerala. Their stories do not appear interlinked, they share a common tragedy — that of falling in love with men whose aim is to exploit their trust in service of their religious mission to convert Hindu girls. The teaser contains some strong visuals of sexual violence and dialogues that border on divisive.

Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the film stars Aditi Bhatia, Ulka Gupta, and Aishwarya Ojha in the lead roles. Aashin A. Shah and Ravichand Nallappa are credited as co-producers. Amarnath Jha and Vipul have co-written the film. Mannan Shah has composed the songs and background score, while lyrics are by Manoj Muntashir. A few days ago, the makers released a single from their film, titled ‘O Maayi Re.’

In the technical crew, the film has Abhijeet Chaudhari as the cinematographer, Juhi Talmaki as the production designer, and Sanjay Sharma as the editor.
