Lyricist Manoj Muntashir has come out strongly against the makers of Sky Force for not giving him credit in the teaser of the song ‘Maaye’ from the film. In the teaser video released by the makers, the name of the composer and singer, Tanishk Bagchi and B Praak has been added, however, Manoj’s name is missing. Manoj has only been tagged under the video, shared on social media.
Taking to X, Manoj said, “Please note Jio Studios, Maddock Films, Saregama Global, this song is not just sung and composed but also written by someone who has given all his blood and sweat to it. Removing writers name from the opening credits shows utter disrespect for the craft and fraternity by the makers.”
He added, “If it’s not corrected immediately, including the main song releasing tomorrow, I am going to disown the song and make sure my voice is heard by the law of the land. Shame.”
The teaser of the patriotic song briefly features visuals of Akshay Kumar and Veer Paharia on the battlefield.
Sky Force is an aerial actioner, directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapoor. It is set to be released in theatres on January 24.
Manoj is known for writing popular songs like, ‘Teri Mitti’ from Kesari (2019), ‘Tere Sang Yaara’ from Rustom (2016), and ‘Kaun Tujhe’ from MS Dhoni: An Untold Story (2016), among others. He also wrote the dialogues for the mythological-drama Adipurush, for which he was severely criticized for the kind of language used by the characters.
