The news of Arijit Singh announcing his retirement from playback singing, a few days ago, came as a huge shock to his fans and music-lovers across the board. While many have expressed their disappointment at the singer’s decision, Arijit has largely received a lot of support from his peers within the film music industry. On Thursday, Lucky Ali too spoke about the subject, agreeing with the singer on his decision.
Speaking to PTI, Lucky Ali said that he completely supports Singh's decision to express himself outside of the constraints imposed by the music industry. “It’s not a loss. He's definitely going to sing and he's going to express himself, but he's not going to do it with the circumstances that were there before. You've got to make your own road like how we've done; we made our own road,” he added.
The renowned singer also said he agrees with Arijit’s stand, adding, “You've got to go stand in the musician's shoes to understand what he's really feeling. And if he's taken a step to that effect, something must have snapped within him.”
Talking about the significance of struggle for any artist, Lucky stated, “An easy life is not a good life. There should be drama in it, there should be struggle in it, there should be a lot of things and those are elements that come into your work.” He also underlined the positive side of this decision, mentioning how such a step gives more freedom to an artist ‘to express yourself and explore your journey with other like-minded people’. “Now, we're not dependent on any film or music company or anything, we are the company,” he added.
Lucky Ali recently came up with his new single, ‘Tu Jaane Hai Kahan’, a romantic song penned by Kausar Munir and released under the Tips Music banner.
Meanwhile, in the past few days, many film artists like Vishal Dadlani, Shreya Ghoshal, Chinmayi Sripaada, Sona Mohapatra expressed their support to Arijit for his decision.
