Haiwaan, the Saif Ali Khan-Akshay Kumar starrer action-thriller is set for September 11 release. The official trailer of the film was unveiled on Tuesday.

Cut in an extremely slick and stylish manner, Haiwaan trailer begins by establishing its antagonist (Akshay Kumar), a vengeant psychopath who has murdered 7 families within a span of one year. As the police struggles to nab him and solve the mysterious case, enters the protagonist (Saif), a blind man who is on to something in connection with the mysterious killer, while struggling with his demons.  

With its minimal use of dialogue and many visuals of stylish action-heavy moments, Haiwaan trailer intrigues one further about its storyline and the lead characters. The trailer also stands up for its thumping background score, especially towards the end, and a peculiar voice modulation done by Akshay Kumar who gets to mouth the most memorable dialogue in the trailer as well.

The ensemble cast includes Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Saiyami Kher, Rajpal Yadav, Sharib Hashmi, Rajesh Sharma, Pahal Chaudhary, and Manoj Joshi. Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn, Haiwaan is an official remake of the 2016 Malayalam film Oppam, which too was directed by Priyadarshan. The action-thriller reunites Akshay and Saif after 18 years - the two had last collaborated on Tashan (2008), which was a box office failure.

Priyadarshan shares the screenplay credits with Abilash Nair & Rohan Shankar. Rohan has also penned the dialogues, while Abilash gets an additional co-director credit. 

The technical team of Haiwaan includes prominent names like Sabu Cyril as the production designer and Divakar Mani who helms cinematography. Action direction is by Stunt Silva & Ravi Thyagarajan, while Pritam has composed the music for the film.
