Salman Khan gym franchise catches fire in south Delhi, no casualties

A fire broke out at a Salman Khan gym franchise in Greater Kailash-I area in New Delhi, police said on Friday.

No casualties or major damage was reported, police said.

The fire broke at 10.15 pm on Thursday on the first floor of the gym in M Block Market, following which the fire brigade was alerted, they said.

Local police personnel reached the spot and promptly evacuated all occupants of the gym before the arrival of the fire brigade, ensuring their safety, a police officer said.

Fire brigade personnel subsequently reached the spot and brought the blaze under control.

The fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, though the exact cause is yet to be ascertained, the officer said.

The site was secured after the firefighting operation. Police said the franchise is operating under the actor's gym brand.
