Erstwhile IAS officer Abhishek Singh has transitioned into cinema by making his debut in 1946: Direct Action Day. The actor is now preparing for his next theatrical release, Gunmaaster G9, an action-romance drama from director Aditya Datt. It stars Abhishek in a key role alongside Emraan Hashmi, Genelia D’Souza and Aparshakti Khurana.
Speaking about his role in the film, Abhishek Singh said, "Most actors step in front of the camera to play authority; I’ve had the privilege of living it in the real world first. Having served on the ground as an IAS officer, I understand the weight, discipline, and split-second decisions that come with holding responsibility."
Additionally, the actor shared, "Bringing that lived experience into the reel world for Gunmaaster G9 gave my character a raw, authentic edge. In public service, governance taught me conviction; in cinema, this role allowed me to channel that exact mindset into high-octane action. Stepping into the boots of a fearless cop wasn’t just about putting on a uniform—it was about bridging real-life duty with reel-life intensity."
The makers promises to bring high-octane stunts, intense drama, and romance to the film. On the technical front, the film has composer Himesh Reshammiya, who has worked on several iconic Emraan Hashmi films. It brings Emraan back together with director Aditya after 2005's Aashiq Banaya Aapne and 2006's Dil Diya Hai, which also have music by Himesh. Earlier Aditya called it "one of the most demanding yet exhilarating films of my career." Regarding the Emraan-Himesh reunion, Aditya shared said that their collaboration has been "an extraordinary experience" before adding, "I am excited for audiences to see what we have created."
Gunmaaster G9 is produced by Deepak Mukut, Hunar Mukut and Sangeeta Ahir, as well as presented by Soham Rockstar Entertainment. The film is set for a November 27 release.
