Aparshakti Khurana will be seen playing an antagonist in Emraan Hashmi’s Gunmaaster G9. The actor said that he always wanted to explore grey characters.

Speaking about his role, Aparshakti shared, “I’ve always wanted to explore grey characters, and Gunmaaster G9 gave me the perfect opportunity. This role is layered — it’s not just about being menacing with brawn. There’s intelligence, pain, and an emotional backstory that drives the madness.”

The film is helmed by Aditya Datt and marks the reunion of the Aashiq Banaya Aapne team. The 2005 film was directed by Aditya, starred Emraan and had music by Himesh Reshammiya. It is expected to begin shoot in Mumbai post-monsoon, with Uttarakhand schedules to follow shortly thereafter.

Talking about the film earlier, Aditya said, “When we made Aashiq Banaya Aapne, we were young, hungry, and experimental. With Gunmaaster G9, we are still all of those things—but sharper and more evolved. It’s a full-circle moment for me. I am incredibly grateful to Deepak Mukut for bringing us back together and trusting us with this film.”

Gunmaaster G9 is produced by Deepak Mukut and Hunar Mukut under the Soham Rockstar Entertainment banner. It also stars Genelia D'Souza.

The film is slated to release in 2026.

Meanwhile, Aparshakti was last seen in Stree 2 and Berlin. He also has the romantic-drama Badtameez Gill which will be released soon. It also stars Vaani Kapoor.
