We had recently reported about the makers of upcoming Veer Pahariya starrer Prem Keetanu setting a release date for their film. On Monday, the team unveiled the first teaser of their film.
Directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, Prem Keetanu promises to tell the story of a college kid, who is a quintessential black sheep figure — drinking, picking up fights and wasting his college life away while being dismissed by everyone around. He meets and falls for a college mate, who however is not interested in him to any extent. However, as most rom-coms go, the two young ones travel a long away, from being rivals to lovers — only to be obstructed by a third wheel, played by Aparshakti Khurana.
The film promises to tell his story, filled with struggle and pathos, all with a tint of humour and light-heartedness. Apoorv Singh Karki has earlier directed films like Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai (2023), Bhaiyya Ji (2024) and a few episodes of the popular TVF series Aspirants.
Aafiya Syed makes her Hindi film debut with Prem Keetanu, while the ensemble cast includes Rakesh Bedi, and Nikhil Vijay. While there were many reports about the film being an official adaptation of 2024 Malayalam film Premalu, the first teaser hints at major modifications on script level to avoid comparisons with the original.
Produced by Gaurav Verma under Avanika Films in association with Bhavana Studios, the film has Arjun Kukreti and Ritesh Soni as cinematographer and editor, respectively. Ambika Acharya is the production designer, while Deepak Kingrani is credited as the writer. The soundtrack of Prem Keetanu has multiple composers like Sachet Parampara, Annkur Pathak, Rahul Mishra, The Risk, and Shashi Suman on board. The shooting for the film commenced in February this year, and the shoot wrap was announced a few days ago.
Veer made his acting debut last year with Sky Force, the military action-drama which also starred Akshay Kumar.
