A few days ago, few reports had emerged on Amruta Khanvilkar and her alleged separation from her husband Himanshu Malhotra. However, on Monday, the actor put an end to all speculations through an official legal statement, which she issued alongwith Himanshu, warning of legal action against circulation of any such unverified reports. 

The statement, which the couple shared on their Instagram page, read, “It has come to our attention that certain online, social media and digital platforms are circulating content concerning Ms Amruta Khanvilkar and her personal life, which is baseless, defamatory and/or in violation of her privacy. While the right to freedom of expression is respected, any misuse of such freedom to publish, circulate or share defamatory statements, rumours, unverified allegations or misleading information concerning Ms Amruta Khanvilkar will be taken seriously.”

The statement further mentioned that all such instances are being monitored and documented for appropriate legal recourse, adding, “Wherever supported by available evidence, appropriate legal action will be initiated against the individuals, entities or organisations responsible for creating, publishing, circulating or sharing such content,” mentioning August 10 as the effective date for the monitoring and legal recourse initiation.

Amruta and Himanshu met on the sets of India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj in early 2000s, and got married on January 24, 2015, after dating each other for a decade. 

On the professional front, Amruta’s recent appearances include a cameo in Tu Yaa Main and the courtroom drama The Taj Story. The actor, who began her career in the Marathi industry with the 2006 film Golmaal, is known for her work in films like Phoonk (2008), Raazi (2018) and Rangoon (2017).
