About an hour after it was announced that the release of Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups has been pushed from June 4, Varun Dhawan-headliner romantic-comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has taken up the release window. The David Dhawan directorial, also starring Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur, had earlier preponed its release to May 22 but now will be coming to theatres on its original release date of June 5.

Varun took to Instagram to make the announcement by sharing a new poster from the film, “JUNE 5 TH 2026 in theatres Thankful to @thenameisyash and @maddockfilms for helping us reset the calendar as our film hai jawani toh ishq hona hai will now release on its original date. The first film to release post ipl.”

With the shift, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is set to be the first big Hindi release after the IPL season. The film will only be clashing in theatres with Anurag Kashyap’s Bandar, starring Bobby Deol.

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai was originally slated to release on June 5. It then shifted to June 12 to avoid clash with Toxic but then preponed its release to May 22 where it was clashing with Karan Johar’s Chand Mera Dil and now finally (hopefully) fixing the release to June 5.

The film marks Varun’s maiden collaboration with both Mrunal and Pooja, and his fourth film with his father David Dhawan after Main Tera Hero (2014), Judwaa 2 (2017), and Coolie No. 1 (2020)Tips Films serve as the producers. In the supporting cast, the film has Rakesh Bedi, Chunky Panday, Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Sheirgill, and Mouni Roy.
