Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi will soon be seen sharing screen in Ek Din, the Aamir Khan production that’s slated for theatrical release on May 1. In the official trailer, that was released a few weeks ago, it was revealed that the film also features Kunal Kapoor in a key role. Kunal recently spoke about being part of the film, working experience with Junaid Khan, and more.

In an official statement, Kunal said, “I just have a special appearance in the film. Aamir reached out and was keen that I be part of it, and it was a role I enjoyed stepping into.”

Kunal Kapoor and Aamir Khan had famously worked together in the 2006 film Rang De Basanti, which incidentally also had Sunil Pandey as an assistant director. Looking back at his association with Sunil, Kunal said, “One of the reasons Ek Din is special to me is the director Sunil. There is something really nice about these full circle moments, where you end up working with the people you started off with.”

Talking about his working experience with Junaid and Sai, Kunal added, “Sai always delivers solid performances, and Junaid has done very well too. I've seen Junaid as a young boy, and now here he is, not just acting but taking on the responsibility of producing the film as well. He is incredibly focused and hardworking. Only the work matters to him. I think he's got a long road ahead.”

Kunal Kapoor was previously seen in the Netflix original Jewel Thief, which also starred Saif Ali Khan. His upcoming projects include the much anticipated Ramayana, where he plays the role of Lord Indra.
