Actor Yash, who attended CinemaCon 2026 in Los Angeles with producer Namit Malhotra to promote Ramayana, spoke about his experience of working alongside Ranbir Kapoor in the ambitious mythological film.
In an interaction with an international media outlet, Yash was asked about sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor. He pointed out an interesting aspect of the film’s structure. “Ranbir Kapoor and I don’t come face to face in this film. As everyone knows, it is a two-part story. In the first part, Ravana has his own kingdom and Ram has his own world. As the story moves forward, situations bring us together,” he said.
Yash also reflected on his off-screen equation with Ranbir Kapoor, calling him a wonderful actor. He said they have met several times and share mutual respect, which made the process smoother. According to him, the team remained focused on doing justice to the scale of Ramayana. “We all had one goal, to make a good film and give it our best,” he noted.
He added that the question of chemistry did not really come up, as everyone was aligned in their approach. The team, he said, enjoyed the process of making the film and worked towards a shared vision.
In Ramayana, Yash plays Ravana, while Ranbir Kapoor stars as Ram. Sai Pallavi essays Sita and Sunny Deol plays Hanuman. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, with music by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, and is produced by Namit Malhotra, with Yash also backing the project under Monster Mind Creations.
