Mrunal Thakur, who has a big release coming up this week with Dacoit, spoke about her 15 year journey in the entertainment industry in a recent interview. During the same, the Dacoit actor called Ranveer Singh her ‘lucky charm,’ crediting him for her arrival in movies.

Speaking to Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast, Mrunal recalled one of the ad shoot she did, where she shared screen with Ranveer Singh. Recalling how that ad gained her recognition, she added, “He is my lucky charm. He is the reason why I exist in this industry at the first place. I did a commercial with him for a hair brand. When that commercial hit the screens… it was then when filmmakers started noticing me and that is how… I give my credit to him and this man has really helped me.”

The actor also praised Ranveer’s performance in the latest blockbuster Dhurandhar, adding, “The acting was not surface level. It had depth and layers. I didn't watch it as Ranveer Singh. I only saw it as Hamza… it was more of a character than a hero. I just feel incredibly proud of Ranveer because he is so hardworking. I pray and wish that whatever he does should be a blockbuster! He can do everything.”

Dhurandhar 2 on Tuesday surpassed the domestic boxoffice collections of Baahubali 2, becoming the 2nd highest all-time domestic grosser. The film is 200 crores away from the domestic figures of Pushpa 2: The Rule. The Aditya Dhar directorial also features Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, Danish Pandor, and Sanjay Dutt in the primary cast.

Meanwhile, Dacoit, where Mrunal shares screen with Adivi Sesh, is scheduled to hit theatres this Friday. Directed by Shaneil Deo, Dacoit also features Anurag Kashyap and Prakash Raj in major roles.
