In February, Sultan filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar had confirmed his next project with last year’s breakout star Ahaan Panday, who became an overnight sensation with the romantic musical Saiyaara. On Friday, the filmmaker took to his social media page to share a few BTS pictures from their film’s sets, confirming that the shoot has begun.

In one of these images, one can see Ahaan’s piercing gaze through a clapboard as he intensely looks at the monitor.  Ali Abbas captioned the post, “and it begins.”

The project, which is the 79th film to be bankrolled under the prestigious banner of Yash Raj Films, has already began generating buzz with a stellar star cast including Sharvari, Aaishvary Thackeray and Bobby Deol in key roles. Details about the storyline remain tightly under wraps, however. The film also doesn't have an official title yet.

Earlier talking about collaborating with the Saiyaara actor, Ali Abbas had said, “What I love about Ahaan is his sincerity. In today’s time, when everything can feel performative and an act, he brings a kind of old-school honesty to his performance, like the romantic heroes we have grown up watching and loving. The camera picks up on that. You can’t act vulnerable on screen, it doesn’t land and he isn’t afraid to be vulnerable which is incredible.”

Ali Abbas, who began his directorial career 15 years ago with Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, last directed Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024).
