Vedang Raina, who impressed Hindi film audience with his work in The Archies (2023) and Jigra (2024), will next be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s period romance Main Vaapas Aaunga. The actor recently spoke about his working experience with Imtiaz Ali and his experience as an outsider.

In an official statement, Vedang said, “Imtiaz Ali brings the best out of you without you even realising. I’m actually spoiled as an actor after this experience.”

Recalling his working experience with Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang added, “Sir is just a legend. I tried to observe him as much as I could and learned  things I’ll remember for life.”

Among other topics, Vedang also noted that he doesn’t think much about his status as an ‘outsider’ anymore. ““It’s now been a couple of years. I’m lucky to be doing what I’m doing. There’s only a handful in the entire country getting these opportunities. I will make the most of it,” he added.

While he didn’t reveal much about his character in Main Vaapas Aaunga, Vedang expressed a desire to explore multiple genres going forward. “I’m not limiting myself to a genre. If a script resonates with me and my heart is in it, I’ll do it. I’m learning along the way, but maybe I’d be more in control. I think I usually go with the flow and let things happen. But I take charge slightly more,” he said.

Backed by Applause Entertainment, Main Vaapas Aaunga, which opens in cinemas on June 12, also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Sharvari.
