The makers of Haiwaan, Priyadarshan's upcoming film starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, dropped a few behind-the-scenes images on Monday. While the three are spotted to be busy on the sets, the makers have also announced that nearly 40 per cent of the shoot for the film has been completed. A few outdoor schedules in Kochi, Vagamon, and Ooty have been wrapped up.

Recently, Saiyami Kher also joined the film's cast. Haiwaan marks a special collaboration, not only because it brings Saiyami together with the trio of Akshay, Saif, and Priyadarshan for the first time, but also because it reunites Akshay and Saif on screen after 17 years since their last outing in Tashan (2008). The film's cast also includes Shreya Pilgoankar.

Haiwaan, produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films, is inspired by Priyadarshan’s 2016 Malayalam thriller Oppam, though with significant changes to both dialogue and screenplay, as told by the veteran filmmaker. The original film featured Mohanlal as a visually impaired man who becomes the unlikely protector of a judge’s daughter.

Recently, Priyadarshan confirmed that Mohanlal will appear in a cameo role in Haiwaan. The film marks Priyadarshan’s 98th film and reunites him with Akshay, with whom he has delivered several hits in Bollywood. More details about the exact plot of the upcoming remake are awaited.
