Anurag Kashyap's Nishaanchi sees rise in box office collections on Day 2

Nishaanchi, which is written and directed by Anurag Kashyap, was released on September 19

On its second day of its theatrical run Anurag Kashyap's Nishaanchi saw a rise in its box office collections. The crime drama, which was released on September 19, stars debutant Aaishvary Thackeray in dual roles.

The film which grossed Rs 25 lakhs on the day of its release, collected Rs 39 lakhs on Day 2, at the Indian box office, according to box office tracker Sacnilk. The film is Anurag's first theatrical release after 2023's Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat.

Anurag's Kennedy, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2023, is yet to get a theatrical release. The film reunites Anurag with actor Rahul Bhat after the director's Ugly (2014). The rest of the cast of Kennedy includes Sunny Leone, Mohit Takalkar, and Megha Burman, among others.

The director has also collaborated with Bobby Deal for a crime thriller, titled Bandar. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2025. Sanya Malhotra, Saba Azad, Indrajith Sukumaran, Joju George, and Raj B Shetty among others.
