Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai gets new release date

Directed by David Dhawan, the film also stars Mouni Roy, Chunkey Panday, Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Rakesh Bedi, and Ali Asgar in pivotal roles

Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde’s upcoming romantic-comedy, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has got a new release date. The David Dhawan directorial was earlier set to be released on April 10, 2026. Now, the film will be releasing on June 5 next year.

The makers made the announcement through a social media post, sharing an earlier poster with the film’s title on it. They wrote in caption, “Drama bhi hona hai, comedy bhi — kyunki jab ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ in cinemas on 5th June 2026.”

The film also features Mouni Roy, Chunky Panday, Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Rakesh Bedi, and Ali Asgar in pivotal roles. It is produced by Ramesh Taurani’s Tips Films. More details from the film are awaited.

The romantic-comedy marks the fourth collaboration between father-son, Varun and David, who have worked earlier on comedy-dramas like, Main Tera Hero (2014), Judwaa 2 (2017) and Coolie No. 1 (2020).

Varun was recently seen in a cameo in Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s horror-comedy, Thamma. His last theatrical release was the romantic-comedy, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, which also starred Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles.

Mrunal was last seen in Ajay Devgn’s comedy-entertainer, Son of Sardaar 2. Pooja played the female lead in Suriya’s actioner, Retro, which was released earlier this year in May. She also appeared in a song in Rajinikanth’s Coolie. The actor be seen next in Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, which will be released in theatres on January 9 next year.
