‘Dada Kishan Ki Jai’: Sukhwinder Singh adds power to patriotic song from Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur

‘Dada Kishan Ki Jai’ has been composed and produced by Salim-Sulaiman with lyrics by Javed Akhtar

Dada Kishan Ki Jai’, a patriotic song from Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film, 120 Bahadur, was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. Sung by Sukhwinder Singh, the song has been composed and produced by Salim-Sulaiman with lyrics by Javed Akhtar.

The music video of the song features Sukhwinder as he recounts the sacrifice of the 120 soldiers who fought against 3000 Chinese troops during the Battle of Rezang La which occurred during the 1962 war. A group of people watch visuals from the war over a huge screen as the powerful vocals by Sukhwinder underline the patriotism with Javed’s effective words translating the emotions of their sacrifice. The music video briefly features some glimpse from the battle where Indian troops are seen clashing with the Chinese. At one point, Farhan is seen stabbing a Chinese soldier before letting out a scream. The music by Salim-Sulaiman carries the feeling of celebration imbibing some folk sounds from Punjab into the song.

The song was launched at a grand event in Lucknow on Wednesday and was attended by was attended by Farhan, Sukhwinder, Narpat Singh; son of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC, the actors portraying the soldiers of Charlie Company, the two surviving heroes of the Battle of Rezang La, Subedar Honorary Captain Ram Chander Yadav Ji and Havildar Nihal Singh Ji, SM, and the families of the martyrs.

In the film, Farhan essays the role of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC, who, along with his men, stood his ground against impossible odds in one of the most defining battles of Indian military history.

Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment) and Amit Chandrra (Trigger Happy Studios), 120 Bahadur is set to be released theatres on November 21.
