The title track from Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s upcoming romantic-drama, Tere Ishk Mein was unveiled by the makers on Saturday. The song is composed by AR Rahman, written by Irshad Kamil and sung by Arijit Singh.
The music video of the song begins with an extended dialogue by Dhanush as he converses with a person in a bar as Kriti sits beside him. Dhanush gulps down a glass of alcohol and shouts, prompting the DJ to lower the volume. Dhanush then addresses the guy seated beside Kriti and says, “You are a good boy, Abhir. I am good but you must have been good from the beginning. I am new. When she was with me, I would remind myself that I am good. But, now I tend to forget.”
The vocals by Arijit then begin quietly blending with the intense music by Rahman as the lyrics underline the passionate love between Kriti and Dhanush. In the video, Dhanush is seen wooing Kriti as she goes away in a cycle rickshaw. The two are then shown sharing tender moments of love. Later, Kriti seems to lose her sanity as she is shown to be addicted to alcohol and smoking almost feverishly. The song also offers an intense glimpse into the film, where Dhanush and Kriti’s love story seems to take a violent turn. It ends with Dhanush entering a public function and setting it on fire.
Sharing the song, the makers wrote, “Presenting the much-awaited song of the year Tere Ishk Mein, from the grand world of Shankar and Mukti. Starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon.”
Tere Ishk Mein marks the third collaboration between the Dhanush and Aanand, after Ranjhanaa (2013) and Atrangi Re (2021). This is the first time Kriti Sanon is joining forces, both with the actor and the director. Aanand L Rai last directed Raksha Bandhan, starring Akshay Kumar, in 2022.
Tere Ishk Mein is slated to release on November 28 this year.
