Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal are soon to welcome their first child. Vicky’s younger brother and uncle-to-be actor Sunny Kaushal recently shared how their family is overjoyed and eager for the arrival of its newest member but is also a bit nervous what lies ahead.

Speaking to Instant Bollywood, Sunny said, “Sabhi ko badi Khushi hai and nervous bhi hai ki kya hoga aage jaake (Everyone is happy and nervous also. We do not know what will happen ahead). Waiting for that day to come.”

On September 23, Katrina and Vicky shared a joint post on Instagram announcing the pregnancy. They shared a photo of a polaroid picture of themselves, in which Vicky is seen caressing Katrina’s baby bump. The caption read, “On our way to start the best chapter of our lives with hearts full of joy and gratitude.”

In an old interview with Filmfare, Katrina Kaif had spoken about her thoughts on family and parenthood. Raised by her mother Suzanne Turquotte after her parents’ separation, Katrina reflected on growing up without a father figure and how she doesn’t want the same for her child. “Not having a father figure does create a certain vacuum and makes any girl feel vulnerable. When I have kids, I want them to have the experience of being with both parents,” she had said.

Katrina and Vicky tied the knot in a royal wedding at the Six Senses Resort, Fort Barwara in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, in 2021 after dating for a brief period.
