Aditya Dhar, the director of the upcoming film Dhurandhar, took to social media to refute rumours of the film being based on the late Major Mohit Sharma AC (P) SM.

Replying to a user who asked Aditya if the film was based on Major Mohit Sharma, Aditya said, "Hi, sir - our film Dhurandhar is not based on the life of braveheart Major Mohit Sharma AC(P) SM. This is an official clarification."

He added, "I assure you, if we do make a biopic on Mohit sir in the future, we will do it with full consent and in complete consultation with the family, and in a way that truly honors his sacrifice for the nation and the legacy it has left for all of us. Jai Hind."

Major Mohit Sharma was a part of the Indian Army's Para Special Forces Regiment, who was martyred in 2009, while engaging terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar is set to release on December 5, and also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun.
