Dhanush and AR Rahman lit up the stage with their live performance at the Tere Ishk Mein audio launch on Wednesday. Directed by Aanand L Rai, the film stars Kriti Sanon as the female lead and has generated much anticipation among audiences for both its story and music.

During the event, Dhanush performed an unreleased Tamil version of a song from the film, which was met with loud cheers from the audience. The emotional track, carrying the undertones of a lullaby, was written and sung by Dhanush himself. While the Idli Kadai actor delivered his soulful performance, the legendary composer accompanied him on the piano, swaying to the rhythm. Videos of the event and Dhanush’s heartfelt rendition have since gone viral on social media, earning widespread appreciation from fans.

Earlier, the film's title track 'Tere Ishk Mein' and ‘Usey Kehna’ were released by the makers. Both the tracks were received with overwhelmingly positive response from audience, with the title track crossing over 500 million views on YouTube. The film's teaser, which was released last month, hinted at a violent love story between Dhanush and Kriti Sanon's characters. The teaser opened with a haldi ceremony of Kriti’s character where Dhanush’s Shankar enters as an uninvited guest. His face is beaten up, swollen. A voiceover informed that Shankar is coming straight from Varanasi after cremating his father. “I have brought gangaajal for you, so that you can wash your sins,” he tells Kriti before emptying a bottle on her. Flashbacks hinted at a love story, between Kriti’s character and Shankar, riddled with violence and addiction. “I hope you beget a son, so that you realise that those who die in love are also someone’s sons,” Shankar warns Kriti’s character, a throwback to Kundan’s fate in Raanjhanaa (2013).

Tere Ishk Mein has been written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav and directed by Aanand L Rai. It marks the third collaboration between the Dhanush and Aanand, after Ranjhanaa (2013) and Atrangi Re (2021). This is the first time Kriti is joining forces, both with the actor and the director. Aanand L Rai last directed Raksha Bandhan, starring Akshay Kumar, in 2022.

Tere Ishk Mein is slated to release on November 28 this year.
