Veteran actor Dharmendra has been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital. The actor’s hospitalisation caused a concern among fans as soon as reports surfaced online. He will soon turn 90. Dharmendra’s team shared an update on his health and confirmed that he is hospitalised for a routine check-up.

Sources told India Today that there is no cause to worry. “He undergoes a series of tests periodically given his age, and is in the hospital for the same. Someone may have spotted him and created a news piece. He is absolutely fine and there’s nothing to be worried about,” the source told the publication.

Earlier this year in April, Dharmendra underwent an eye graft surgery. In videos that went viral back then, he was seen exiting the hospital with a bandage on his right eye. Speaking to the paparazzi, he had said, “I am strong. Dharmendra still has a lot of strength. I still have the spirit. My eye has undergone an eye graft, I am strong.”

He was last seen in Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which came out last year. The actor will be seen next in Sriram Raghavan’s war-drama, Ikkis, which stars Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda. The film will be released in December.

He will also collaborate with Arbaaz Khan for an upcoming family-drama thriller, Maine Pyaar Kiya Phir Se. It is directed by Sabir Sheikh and produced by Ronnie Rodrigues, CMD of Pearl Group of Companies and owner of Cinebuster Magazine Pvt Ltd. Rodrigues has penned the story of the film. It is expected to go on floors soon.
