Shahid Kapoor has completed shooting for his upcoming film with Vishal Bhardwaj, marking their fourth collaboration after Kaminey (2009), Haider (2014) and Rangoon (2017). Sharing the update on Instagram, the actor expressed his excitement for this ‘secretly titled’ project, hinting at a new world and a completely different character.
Sharing a picture of himself alongside Vishal from the sets of the film, Shahid wrote, “And it’s a WRAP. My 4th collaboration with this special man @vishalrbhardwaj. Excitement levels are off the charts. Our secretly titled soon-to-be-announced film is done. As always, it’s a new world and a madly different character for me to play. Praising his co-actors in the film, Shahid added, “This post can’t be complete without including the stellar cast @tripti_dimri who I had a total blast with. According to reports, the film is a biopic of gangster Hussain Ustara. It was originally conceived as a biopic of gangster Sapna didi that would have seen Deepika Padukone in the titular role and the late Irrfan Khan in the role of Hussain. Later, rumours stated that Kartik Aaryan was in talks to play the gangster, but now the character will be materialized by Vishal’s frequent collaborator Shahid.
The film is set to be released on December 5.
