Karan Johar-hosted reality show The Traitors gets release date

The show features 20 celebrities who compete to win a significant cash prize and the coveted title

Karan Johar hosted reality show The Traitors will be released on Prime Video on June 12, the makers said on Friday. An Indian adaptation of the international reality show, it will feature 20 celebrities who will compete to win a significant cash prize and the coveted title with new episodes dropping every Thursday at 8pm (IST).

The streaming platform has collaborated with All3Media International for the local adaptation of the popular show. It is produced by BBC Studios India Productions.

Speaking about it, Nikhil Madhok, Head of Originals, Prime Video India, said, “Packed with drama, manipulation, suspenseful gameplay, and unexpected twists, the show is mounted on a grand scale with high production values. The Traitors (Dutch title: De Verraders) was created and developed by Marc Pos and IDTV Creative Director Jasper Hoogendoorn in cooperation with RTL Creative Unit. It was recently named as K7’s format of the year in 2024 and the format was awarded C21’s International Format Award for Best Host of a Television Format. Previously, the Dutch version De Verraders received the Rose d'Or award for best Reality and Factual Entertainment.
