Dhanush to headline Abdul Kalam biopic

Kalam: The Missile Man of India marks Dhanush's fifth Hindi film after Raanjhanaa, Shamitabh Atrangi Re and Tere Ishk Mein, and his first collaboration with Om Raut

Filmmaker Om Raut officially announced on Wednesday that he will team up with actor Dhanush for scientist and former president APJ Abdul Kalam's biopic.

An announcement poster about the same was unveiled this evening.

The film titled Kalam: The Missile Man of India marks Dhanush's fifth Hindi film after Raanjhanaa, Shamitabh Atrangi Re and Tere Ishk Mein, and his first collaboration with Om Raut, who previously made Adipurush (2023).

The film is produced by T-Series Films' Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar and Abhishek Agarwal Films' Abhishek Agarwal and Anil Sunkara.

The rest of the cast and crew of Kalam: The Missile Man of India is yet to be revealed.

Dhanush, meanwhile, was last seen in Raayan, with his trilingual film Kuberaa, by director Sekhar Kammula, opposite Nagarjuna, releasing on June 20. His other films in the pipeline are Idly Kadai, which he is also directing, Tere Ishk Mein and an untitled film with his Karnan collaborator Mari Selvaraj.
