Ginny Weds Sunny, the 2020 rom-com starring Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam, is getting a sequel. The shoot for Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 began on Wednesday. Avinash Tiwary and 12th Fail fame Medha Shankr will be replacing Vikrant and Yami in the film.
The film’s production house, Soundrya Production, took to social media to make the announcement. “Get Ready for a rollercoaster of Romance, Comedy and Drama as the First Schedule of Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 Officially begins! Excited to begin this journey with an amazing team!” they captioned the post.
The film is written and directed by Prasshant Jha.
2020’s Ginny Weds Sunny had Vikrant playing Satnam “Sunny” Sethi, a young man from Delhi who dreams of opening a restaurant. However, he needs to get married first in order to get his family’s support with the business. In order to achieve his dream, he starts wooing Yami’s Rashmi "Ginny" Gill, an independent girl who doesn’t believe in arranged marriage. Things get quirky when Ginny’s matchmaker mother helps Sunny to impress her daughter.
