Actor Arvind Swami, known for his work in films like Roja (1992) and Bombay (1995), is set to star in Anupam Kher’s upcoming directorial Tanvi The Great. His first look from the film was unveiled by Anupam on Friday.

In the poster, Arvind is seen wearing a grey shirt as the Indian flag waves behind him. He plays the role of Major Srinivasan in the film. In the caption, Anupam wrote a note about casting Arvind in it. Anupam wrote how he saw the actor in Roja and was ‘blown away by the young and dynamic actor’s performance’.

“It was much later we did a film- Saath Rang Ke Sapne that I found the most dependable and trustworthy friend for life. So, there was nobody else that came to my mind when I wanted to cast an actor for the role of Major Srinivasan for Tanvi The Great. Major Srini as he’s called in the film is powerhouse of strength, courage and bravery. Arvind’s performance made me feel proud,” Anupam said.

Anupam recently introduced Shubhangi, an actor from his acting school ‘Actor Prepares’, as the lead of Tanvi The Great. The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani and Game of Thrones actor Iain Glen. It marks Anupam’s second film as a director after the 2002 film, Om Jai Jagadish

Tanvi The Great is based on a story by Anupam, who has also written the screenplay with Ankur Suman and Abhishek Dixit. It features music by MM Keeravani and lyrics by Kausar Munir. The film is produced by Anupam Kher Studio along with the National Film Development Corporation in association with Lower Middle-Class Corporation.
