Game of Thrones actor Iain Glen’s first look from Anupam Kher’s upcoming directorial Tanvi The Great was unveiled on Monday. Iain plays the role of Michael Simmons in the film, which also stars debutante Shubhangi in the lead.

In the poster, shared by Anupam, Iain is seen wearing a brown coat in a stylised look that has a painting-like quality. Anupam detailed the casting of Iain in the film through the caption, sharing how he starred alongside the Scottish actor in the three-part BBC series Mrs Wilson and became friends with him during the shoot.

“So, when I was casting for Michael Simmons’s character in Tanvi The Great, I sent the script to Iain, and he immediately agreed to play one of the most important characters in our film. He brings with him not only the brilliance of his acting to the character but also the gravitas, warmth, and compassion so needed in the film,” Anupam wrote.

Tanvi The Great marks Anupam’s second film as a director after the 2002 film, Om Jai Jagadish. The promo of Shubhangi from the film was unveiled recently, showing her character as a free-spirited girl.

The film is based on a story by Anupam, who has also written the screenplay with Ankur Suman and Abhishek Dixit. It features music by MM Keeravani and lyrics by Kausar Munir. Tanvi The Great is produced by Anupam Kher Studio along with the National Film Development Corporation in association with Lower Middle-Class Corporation. The release date of the film will be announced soon.
