The trailer of Sunny Deol’s upcoming actioner Jaat was unveiled by the makers on Monday. Written and directed by Gopichandh Malineni, the film also stars Randeep Hooda, Viineet Kumar Siingh, Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher and Swarupa Ghosh in pivotal roles.

The trailer opens on a parched field where a dead body is found. More bodies are discovered and it is revealed that these killings were ordered by Ranatunga, played by Randeep. He is a menacing figure shown to be having an army of goons at his disposal. Sunny’s character enters the picture to stop Ranatunga’s menace. He is shown to be fighting his goons in his old-style action. The trailer also references Sunny’s dialogue from his 1993 crime-drama Damini when he says, “Ye dhaai kilo ke haath ki taakat poora North dekh chuka hai, ab South dekhega (The entire North has seen the power of my bulky hand, now the South will see too)”. Viineet plays Ranatunga’s henchmen and Saiyami is a police officer.

The film features music by Thaman S and is shot by Rishi Punjabi and edited by Navin Nooli. It is produced jointly by two prominent production houses in Telugu—Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers and TG Vishwa Prasad of People Media Factory. The two production houses and the director are making their Bollywood debut with the project.

Jaat will be released in theatres on April 10.
