Abhishek Banerjee and the entire team of the crime-thriller Stolen met Kamal Haasan in Chennai recently. The veteran actor congratulated the entire team for making the film and extended his wishes to them, as per a press released shared by the makers.

Speaking about it, Abhishek expressed his excitement and said, “I have grown up in Kalpakkam near Chennai watching Kamal Haasan sir's films. He is an absolute legend and a constant source of inspiration for actors like me. To receive appreciation from him for Stolen feels like a dream. This validation means the world to me, and I will treasure this moment forever.”

Helmed by debutant director Karan Tejpal, the film has been co-written by him along with Gaurav Dhingra and Swapnil Salkar-Agadbumb. Gaurav has also produced the film which boasts of executive producers like Anurag Kashyap, Kiran Rao, Nikkhil Advani, and Vikramaditya Motwane.

Stolen tells the story of two brothers from the city who are witness to a kidnapping of a baby from an impoverished mother at a railway station in the rural hinterlands. 

It released on Prime Video on June 4 and has received good reviews from critics with praise for its raw storytelling and gripping performances.
