In a recent interview, Akshay Kumar confirmed that Hera Pheri 3 is back on track. The actor said that there were "ups and downs" but all of it has been resolved. Paresh Rawal had earlier exited the film, after which Akshay had sent him a legal notice. Later, however, Paresh joined the film again.
In a conversation on The Right Angle with Sonal Kalra Season 2, Akshay opened up about the feud with Paresh and said that it wasn’t a publicity stunt. “The things went legal, so when legal things are involved, we cannot call it a publicity stunt; it is a real thing. But now everything is okay. Very soon, some kind of announcement can come. Yes, there were some ups and downs. But now everything is solved, and we are back together, and we have always been together. Yes, that's it."
Last month, Paresh confirmed his return to the third part of the popular franchise. “There’s no controversy. I believe that when people have loved something so much, then you have to be extra careful. It is our responsibility toward the audience. The audience has given you so much adulation. You can’t take things for granted,” said the actor in a podcast with Himanshu Mehta.
The controversy began when Paresh took to social media on May 18 to announce his exit from the film. Following this, Akshay sent a legal notice to Paresh to which the latter responded. Paresh’s lawyers claimed that the makers of Hera Pheri 3 didn’t deliver the screenplay or a draft of a long form agreement.
Reports also stated that the original producer of the film, Firoz Nadiadwala had issued notices to Suniel, Akshay, Paresh and director Priyadarshan, urging them not to do any promos and endorsements related to the Hera Pheri franchise.
Meanwhile, Akshay and Paresh will be seen together in another film by Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla, a horror-comedy which is set to be released in theatres on April 2, 2026.
