Filmmaker Ram Madhvani has launched his new storytelling venture, Equinox Virtual which will focus on creating content on Indian mythology, spirituality and culture with the use of Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality. The first project in the initiative is a short film on the Bhagavad Gita which has been under development for two years.

He has partnered with producer Amita Madhvani to create Equinox Virtual and together they plan to make over 100 AI-VR titles by 2028.

Speaking about it to The Hollywood Reporter India, Ram said, “In VR, we have an opportunity to restore the sanctity of immersive storytelling. And what better source than epics and texts that have endured for centuries?"

Amita added, “Technology should serve emotion, not overshadow it. This project is not just about innovation-it's about creating space for reflection, connection, and new ways of engaging with our cultural heritage.”

Ram is known for directing films like Sonam Kapoor’s Neerja (2016) and Kartik Aaryan’s Dhamaka (2021) and shows like Sushmita Sen’s Aarya. His last directorial was the historical-drama series, The Waking of a Nation, which released earlier this year on Sony LIV.
