Payal Kapadia reacts to Golden Globes loss for All We Imagine As Light: We didn’t win anything but had so much fun

The film lost out the Best Foreign Language Film award to Emilia Perez

Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light won many accolades overseas, including the prestigious Grand Prix at the 77th Cannes Film Festival last year, however, recently it lost out the Golden Globe award for the Best Foreign Language Film to Emilia Perez. Payal was also nominated for Best Director (Motion Picture) but the award was ultimately bagged by Brady Corbet for The Brutalist.

Payal has now reacted to the loss. Taking the defeat positively, the director shared a mirror selfie with her producers in her Instagram stories Thomas Hakim, Julien Graff, and Ranabir Das, on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “We didn’t win anything but had so much fun.”

She also thanked her costume designer Payal Khandwala for her outfit and her stylist Indrakshi Pattanaik.

All We Imagine As Light stars Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam, and Hridhu Haroon. It first released in India on September 21, 2024, and later in November 2024. It is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
