The song ‘Abhimanyu’ from Sohum Shah’s upcoming film Crazxy was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. It is a recreation of an old song ‘Abhimanyu Chakravyuh Mein Fas Gaya Hai Tu’ from Amitabh Bachchan’s Inquilab (1984) and features vocals by Kishore Kumar. The original song has been composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and written by Anand Bakshi.

The music video is designed as a stylised video game with four levels where Sohum’s character, Abhimanyu enters new level, each deadlier than the last. A hoarse voice threatens him. The video has a trippy feel to it with some surreal, VFX induced visuals that capture Abhimanyu being trapped in a deadly maze. The music recreation by The Red Kettle maintains the essence of the original while adding some electronic beats to it.

Crazxy is a thriller written and directed by Girish Kohli, known for writing films like Sridevi’s Mom (2017) and Rajkummar Rao’s HIT: The First Case (2022). It features music by Vishal Bhardwaj and lyrics by Gulzar. Produced by Sohum, Mukesh Shah, Amita Shah, and Adesh Prasad, the film will be released in theatres on February 28.
