Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar took to Instagram recently to shower praises on Vicky Kaushal for his performance in Laxman Utekar’s Chhaava. Vicky essays the role of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in the period-drama and it also stars Akshaye Khanna playing Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

Taking to Instagram stories, Alia shared Vicky’s still from the film and wrote, “Vicky Kaushal! What are you? Cannot get over your performance in Chhaava.”

Karan wrote a longer note on the film, congratulating the makers for its success and wrote, “Badhaai Ho on the blockbuster success of a solid film with an unstoppable and emotionally visceral and relentless last act! Vicky Kaushal is brilliant and is the soul and heartbeat of every frame and Akshaye is exemplary. Congrats to Dino, Laxman and all.”

Chhaava also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ashutosh Rana and Diana Penty in pivotal roles. It released in theatres on February 14 and as per Sacnilk, the film has managed to collect Rs 170 crore at the box-office in six days.
