The Diplomat Teaser: John Abraham plays a master negotiator in the thriller based on true story

Directed by Shivam Nair, the film also stars Sadia Khateeb, Revathy, Kumud Mishra and Sharib Hashmi

The teaser of John Abraham’s The Diplomat was unveiled by the makers on Friday. Directed by Shivam Nair (Naam Shabana) and written by Ritesh Shah, the film also stars Sadia Khateeb, Revathy, Kumud Mishra and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles.

The teaser opens with a clip of the current minister of external affairs, Jaishankar, who describes what a diplomat is. Then we see John, wearing a suit as he is interrogating someone in a room. John’s character is based on the Indian diplomat J.P. Singh and Sadia plays Uzma Ahmed, who stuck in an unhappy and forced marriage in Pakistan. The teaser features John negotiating with people in Pakistan.

The film is produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar; John Abraham (JA Entertainment); Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl (Wakaoo Films) and Sameer Dixit, Jatish Varma and Rakesh Dang (Fortune Pictures/ Seeta films). It is set to be released in theatres on March 7.
